Private Mayor’s Balcony Wedding at SF City Hall

Mia and Ben’s Wedding at SF City Hall
Mia and Ben reached out just last month about photographing their intimate San Francisco City Hall wedding on the Mayor’s Balcony. Last-minute planning? No problem. From our first conversation, it was clear they were fun, outdoorsy, creative, and completely laid-back—the kind of people who make my job feel less like work and more like hanging out with friends.
Their ceremony was short, sweet, and full of joy, tucked into one of City Hall’s most elegant corners. As we exited the building, still riding the high of newlywed energy, we were approached by a man from Greece who offered us a “very good deal” on a vacation there. Only in San Francisco does a wedding end with a spontaneous travel pitch on the sidewalk. I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Afterward, we made our way to Mia’s parents’ house for a cozy waffle brunch. There were heartfelt toasts, laughter around the table, and the kind of easy, meaningful conversation that only happens when people feel truly at home. It was simple, sweet, and completely theirs.

Last year, I photographed Kate and David’s SF City Hall wedding with a reception off-site afterward.
