The Pelican Inn near Muir Beach is steeped in nostalgia. The building is an old English Pub with low ceilings, the odor of wood smoke and yesterday’s ale. It is a perfect place for a wedding.
A friend and I went on a motorcycle adventure many years ago. We were young and adventurous and excited to go on a ride with no exact plan. We left from Oakland, rode to Fairfax, and then continued to Stinson, before heading home by way of Muir Beach. Unfortunately, the fog was thick as pea soup on the way home from Stinson. We were unprepared for the cold and wet. Thankfully the Pelican Inn stood as a beacon on our route. We stopped and warmed ourselves by the fire. We soaked up the smell of good food, burning candles, and wood fire before riding the rest of the way home.
It is no surprise that people feel a connection with this charming place. Sierra and Michael are sweet, good-natured people. Their wedding at the Pelican Inn was kissed with joy.
