A San Francisco City Hall Elopement

Katie and Geoff decided to do something small and had a San Francisco City Hall elopement. A small group of family members joined them to witness their union. SF City Hall is such a beautiful space. I feel like I could never get tired of shooting there. It is cool being surrounded by so many people getting married all at once. There is a real community vibe there.

The justices officiating the ceremonies at San Francisco City Hall are great. They are all volunteers, and bring heart and sincerity to the words that they have said hundreds of times. Katie and Geoff have been together for 11 years. They got married at City Hall before moving to the East Coast. I was happy to be there with them at their wedding.

A San Francisco City Hall elopement is pretty special. You really can’t beat the architecture, lighting, and energy there. But if you are in a tight spot or would rather avoid the long wait, Oakland also does civil ceremonies. Here is a civil ceremony I did in Oakland recently.
