A True San Francisco City Hall Elopement

Indiana couple travels to San Francisco for a City Hall elopement? Yes, Jenn and Steve made the trip all the way from Indiana to tie the knot at the iconic San Francisco City Hall and soak in some Bay Area beauty. I was honored not only to photograph their day, but also to serve as their witness—a role I never take lightly.

After their vows in the rotunda and pictures around City Hall, we set out to explore a few of San Francisco’s most stunning spots. Our first stop was the windswept ruins of Sutro Baths, where waves crashed against the rocky shore. In true elopement style, lunch was simple and perfect—peanut butter and jelly sandwiches enjoyed with ocean views. From there, we wandered to the Golden Gate Bridge for those classic, can’t-miss photos, then on to the Presidio for a quieter moment among the eucalyptus groves.

It also happened to be a Tuesday, which meant fewer crowds, more space to roam, and a relaxed pace for the day. Midweek weddings have a magic all their own—calm, intimate, and perfectly unrushed.
