Roberts Regional Recreation Wedding

Roberts Regional Recreation Area – a lack luster name, but a sweet spot in Oakland for Laura and John’s super DIY wedding. Roberts Regional is super close to San Francisco and Oakland, but feels like you are in a secluded redwood grove far from the city.

When Laura initially contacted me, she was looking to have her wedding at the Brazil Room. As her planning progressed, it turned out that the Brazil Room would not work for her. She asked me if I had any insight about other spots. Always happy to help, I sent her a list of creative alternate places. Laura and John hired the Mexican Bus to shuttle guests.  Cholita Linda served fish tacos and other delicious Mexican cuisine for the wedding.  There were a ton of kids, some great music, and all sorts of fun and unusual aspects to this charming wedding.  Keep an eye out for big hair, a first look with a funny nose, altered bathroom signs, and kazoos.
